Rasun (را سن) is a reimagining of the sun god inspired by the Egyptian sun god Ra. Rasun is an ancient and immortal god, who controls and embodies the sun. He is warm, compassionate, and loving. A scatter brained academic Rasun is always attempting to learn everything he can about humanity. While warming the Earth he also spends most of his time disguised as a human trying desperately to understand what humans are and earnestly trying to be like them. He admires and loves the way humans seem to somehow always attempt insane odds and rarely succeed but try again. He loves how they attempt to live their lives to the fullest knowing one day their lives will end. It is this love for humanity that often leaves him never understanding his best friend Ying Yue. He doesn't understand the moon goddess, who he calls "Amar" (an Arabic form of endearment meaning "moon"), does not feel a connection to humanity. However his faith in humans is often tested as he learns how violent and ungrateful the race can be. Though he knows it is forbidden, the sun god often finds himself intervening in human affairs, somehow always making things worse. It is in those moments that he turns to his friend Ying Yue for comfort, one day hopefully realizing she is far more than a friend.
